AFTER THE RAIN
a poem + upcoming sale announcement 💧
a rainbow streaks from cloud to sea gleam to
a black cat perched on a windowsill.
pots of gold are everywhere:
nestled between serpentine roots
in the cool, damp forest. thick-stemmed porcini
and caramel chanterelles and candy mango
mycelium threading through slimy soil
creating consciousness beneath our feet.
look up, and see the sunbeam shine gold onto us
charge your vessel in the light. my cup
spills over as we amble among the arbor
and pick the bounty only rain can bring.
this morning the birds rejoice,
spread wings after days of downpour.
a symphony of ravens and crooked turkey vultures
swoop and surf the hearty Pacific winds.
seawater swirls out of me
as I watch omens of death play—
turn rot & carrion into vitality,
soaring free across an Earth that belongs to no one.
